Gloria Hernandez

Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Genentech

Gloria Hernandez is currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Genentech since November 2021, focusing on the molecular mechanisms of BMP signaling in pulmonary arterial hypertension and specific cancers within the Molecular Oncology and Immunology departments. Prior to this role, Gloria was a Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine from November 2019 to November 2021, following a Graduate Student Researcher position at the University of California, Los Angeles, where important findings regarding macrophage populations in vascular health were made. Early research experiences include positions as a Junior Specialist and Undergraduate Research Assistant at UC Santa Cruz, where Gloria investigated hematopoietic stem cell development and the effects of toxic metal exposures. Academic credentials include a PhD in Molecular Biology from UCLA and a Bachelor's Degree in Bioengineering from UC Santa Cruz.
