Hideki Garren

Hideki Garren currently serves as Senior Vice President at Genentech since September 2024 and holds a position as a Member of the Board of Directors at Coya Therapeutics, Inc. since April 2021. Previous roles include Chief Medical Officer at Prothena Corporation plc until October 2024, and Vice President, Global Head of Multiple Sclerosis and Neuroimmunology at Genentech from July 2016 to April 2021. Hideki also worked as Group Medical Director for Ocrelizumab at Roche Pharmaceuticals from June 2013 to July 2016, and held the position of Executive Director, Translational Medicine Expert at Novartis from July 2011 to May 2013. Hideki was a co-founder, CSO, and COO at Bayhill Therapeutics from April 2002 to June 2011. Academically, Hideki Garren earned a BS in Biology from Caltech, and an MD and PhD from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, in addition to training at Stanford University School of Medicine.
