Irene Chen has extensive experience in safety science and data analysis within the biopharmaceutical sector. Beginning as a Bioengineering Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Irene progressed to various roles at Gilead Sciences, including Safety Scientist and Research Scientist from June 2013 to September 2016. After a brief tenure as a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science, Irene joined Genentech in March 2020 as Safety Data Science Director. Prior roles at Genentech included Process Development Engineer and Senior Safety Data Scientist. Education includes a B.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
