Jerry Chen

Jerry Chen, Ph.D., is a software systems project leader with a 20-year career focused on biotechnology and computer engineering. They earned a Ph.D. in Computational Science, with an emphasis in Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics from San Diego State University, following a Master’s in Bioengineering from UC San Diego and a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Caltech. Jerry's experience includes roles at organizations such as Genentech, where they currently serve as a Senior Software Engineer and AI Champion, and as the Head of Bioinformatics and Software at Factorial Biotechnologies. Throughout their career, they have made significant contributions to bioinformatics infrastructure and software development across various companies, including Encoded Therapeutics and NASA.
