Jun Chen

Jun Chen is a distinguished Director and Scientist at Genentech, with a tenure beginning in October 2022, previously holding various senior roles within the company since 2014. With extensive experience in biochemistry and pharmacology, Jun has built a high-performing team, focusing on in vitro biology and drug discovery for key targets such as ion channels and GPCRs. Prior to Genentech, Jun worked at AbbVie, leading programs in small and large molecule drug discovery, and at Abbott, where significant contributions were made in pain, CNS, and urology indications. An academic background includes serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Utah and a postdoctoral fellowship in Biology. Jun holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
