Karen Ring

Karen Ring, Ph.D., is a senior manager in science communications at Genentech, where they currently lead communication strategies. They earned a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences from UCSF, where their dissertation focused on reprogramming somatic cells into neural stem cells. Previously, they held postdoctoral positions at The Gladstone Institutes and the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, where they founded and contributed to the Science of Aging blog. They also have extensive experience as a science writer and communicator across various organizations, including Syneos Health and the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
