Katherine Williams

Katherine Williams is a Bioinformatics Principal Scientist with a strong passion for deriving actionable biological insights from high-throughput sequencing data. Currently engaged in research at the cutting-edge Mortazavi lab, Katherine explores epigenetics and transcriptomics in the rare disease facioscular muscular dystrophy (FSHD). Previously, Katherine has held various roles, including Computational Scientist at Genentech, where they further developed their expertise in bioinformatics and interdisciplinary collaboration. With a Master’s degree from UC Irvine, Katherine has also contributed to teaching and mentoring, guiding students in advanced scientific research and public speaking.
