Marta Wells

Principal Scientist at Genentech

Marta Wells is a Principal Scientist at Genentech since September 2020, focusing on computational chemistry for small molecule drug discovery within Genentech Research and Early Development. Previously, Marta served as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pittsburgh from August 2013 to August 2019, where drug leads for novel analgesic glycinergic modulators were developed using computational models. Marta's experience also includes roles as a Graduate Student Researcher and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh, as well as various undergraduate research positions at Johns Hopkins University and Washington University in St. Louis. Marta holds a Ph.D. in Computational Biology from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
