Mel Rabena

Mel Rabena has extensive experience in the medical and clinical research fields, serving in various leadership and scientific roles. Notably, Mel held the position of Executive Director at the California Retina Research Foundation from June 2010 to October 2014, after working as the Director of Research at California Retina Consultants from June 2007 to October 2014. Mel transitioned to Genentech, where engagement began as a Clinical Scientist from February 2016 to February 2019, followed by a Senior Clinical Scientist role, and currently serves as the Associate Group Clinical Science Director since September 2022. Additionally, Mel was a Technician Speaker for Genentech's Integrated Education Speaker's Bureau from January 2012 to October 2014 and worked as a Senior Clinical Scientist at Avalanche Biotechnologies, Inc. from October 2014 to December 2015. Mel holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, completed between 1999 and 2003.
