Michael Hwang

Michael Hwang is a Principal Scientist, Lab Head, and Technology Area Team Leader at Genentech, leading initiatives in oncology translational research and single cell genomics. With a background that encompasses diverse fields such as cancer biology, immuno/protein engineering, and synthetic biology, Michael has contributed to significant research efforts and publications throughout their career. They previously held positions as an intern at Genentech and as a graduate researcher at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where they focused on cancer genetics and therapeutics. Michael is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cellular & Molecular Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University, while also studying Biological Engineering and Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
