Philip Duffy

Philip Duffy is a cryopreservationist in the Cell Banking department at Genentech, where they have applied their biotechnology expertise for over 23 years to develop and produce cell banks. In this role, Philip is responsible for cell culture, cryopreservation, and thawing of various cell lines, as well as maintaining the cell bank inventory and ensuring compliance with regulations. Prior to Genentech, Philip served as a scientific observer for a driftnet fishery in Korea and worked as an assistant curator at the California Academy of Sciences, cataloging ammonite collections. Philip earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
