Serah Kang, Ph.D., currently serves as a Principal Scientist at Genentech, a position held since January 2021, following the role of Senior Scientist. Previously, Serah was an AHA Postdoctoral Fellow at Gladstone Institutes from January 2018 to January 2021, and a PhD Candidate at the University of California, Berkeley, from August 2012 to January 2018. Serah's research focuses on uncovering biomolecular mechanisms of neural stem cell differentiation and the characterization of mechanical properties and changes in brain tissue. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, acquired from 2012 to 2017, and dual Bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, completed in 2012.
