Simon Gao

Simon Gao, PhD, is a highly experienced Principal Clinical Imaging Scientist at Genentech, where responsibilities include serving as the clinical imaging representative on cross-functional development teams and providing comprehensive clinical imaging support for clinical trials. Previous positions at Genentech included Senior, Clinical, Associate, and Assistant Clinical Imaging Scientist. Prior to Genentech, Simon worked at OHSU, focusing on technology transfer related to optical coherence tomography and conducting postdoctoral research on vascular abnormalities in retinal diseases. Education includes a PhD in Bioengineering from Rice University and a Bachelor's in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, complemented by early education at the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science.
