Steven Rutherford

Steven Rutherford is the Director and Senior Principal Scientist at Genentech, where they focus on discovering novel antibacterials and investigating Gram-negative bacterial envelope biogenesis. Their work employs various approaches, including microbiology and molecular biology. Prior to this, Steven conducted research at Princeton University as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and was a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology. They also gained early research experience as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Miami University.
