Thomas Ruby

Thomas Ruby is currently the Assistant General Counsel for Real Estate and Land Use at Genentech, where they provide legal advice on complex land use issues and real estate transactions. Previously, they served as the Senior Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Jose from 1990 to 2000, focusing on land use, real estate, and environmental law. From 2000 to 2012, they worked as Of Counsel at Morrison & Foerster LLP, assisting a variety of entities in navigating complex land use regulations. Thomas holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from UC Hastings College of the Law and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations from UCLA.
