Todd McDevitt

Vice President, Head Of Cell Therapy at Genentech

Todd McDevitt, PhD, currently serves as Vice President and Head of Cell Therapy at Genentech since August 2023. Prior experience includes leading the Head of Cell Engineering in SanaX at Sana Biotechnology, Inc. from October 2021 to August 2023, and serving as Site Leader and Senior Investigator at the Gladstone Institutes from December 2014 to October 2022. During a tenure at the University of California, San Francisco from January 2015 to October 2021, Todd directed the UCSF Bioengineering Graduate Program, overseeing a large faculty and graduate student body. Todd's academic career includes a Professorship at Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University, where a world-renowned laboratory focusing on stem cell technologies was established. Education background includes a BSE in Biomedical & Electrical Engineering from Duke University, a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Washington, and postdoctoral training also at the University of Washington.
