Van Hoang is a biopharmaceutical executive with extensive experience in vaccines, biologics, and advanced therapies. Currently, Van serves as the Head of Analytical Development and Quality Control, as well as Site Head Technical R&D at Genentech since 2025, while also holding the position of SVP, Head of Analytical and Quality Control at Spark Therapeutics, Inc. since 2021. Previously, Van led Analytical Development at Spark Therapeutics from 2020 to 2021 and held various significant roles at Merck from 2017 to 2020, including Executive Director and Global Regulatory Lead. Van earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from UCLA.
