Vipul Bhargava

Vipul Bhargava is a Senior Principal Scientist in Bioinformatics at Genentech, leading the iPSC derived cell therapy program since March 2023. Prior to this role, Vipul held various positions at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson from September 2015 to March 2023, focusing on cancer vaccine initiatives and molecular vulnerabilities in cancer, employing novel computational approaches for target identification and validation. Previously, as a Principal Scientist, Vipul developed target discovery strategies using sequencing and data analytics, particularly in neo-antigen discovery and tumor micro-environment investigation using single cell OMICs. The career also includes experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC San Diego, where a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics and Systems Biology was earned, and as a Research Associate at the Bioinformatics Institute in Singapore, focusing on stochastic modeling and signaling pathways in epithelial cell migration. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. from UC San Diego and a Master of Science from the National University of Singapore.
