Wei Li

Wei Li is a Patent Counsel at Genentech since October 2022, previously serving as a Patent Attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati from September 2021 to October 2022. Wei has extensive experience in the field of intellectual property, having worked as an Associate in Intellectual Property at Jones Day from May 2016 to August 2021 and as an IP Legal Intern. A solid academic foundation is established with a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Penn State University and a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Santa Clara University School of Law. Wei's research background includes positions such as Research Scientist I at The University of New Mexico, where spin-label molecules and sensitizers were designed for spectroscopic studies of iNOS proteins, and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Stony Brook University, focusing on drug candidate design in diabetic nephropathy. During the graduate studies at Penn State University, Wei worked as a Research Assistant on chiral phosphorus ligand design and synthesis related to asymmetric catalysis.
