Ya-Chen Chuang

Ya-Chen Chuang is a skilled Machine Learning Engineer at Genentech since July 2025, with prior experience as an Imaging AI Scientist at Bio-Techne from October 2022 to July 2025, where advanced deep learning models such as U-Net, ResNet, and Transformer architectures were engineered for RNA detection. As a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Washington from January 2022 to September 2022, Ya-Chen developed machine learning algorithms to investigate the relationship between morphometric factors and symptomatology in Chiari malformation. Additionally, as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stevens Institute of Technology, techniques such as live cell imaging and ex vivo histology were employed to study brain injuries and development. A strong foundation in microscopy and sample preparation was gained as a Microscopist at the ThINC Core Facility from 2017 to 2020. Ya-Chen Chuang holds a PhD in Materials Science and Chemical Engineering from Stony Brook University, along with a master's and bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University.
