Yan Qi

Yan Qi has a diverse background combining legal expertise and scientific research, currently serving as Senior Counsel Specialist and Assistant General Counsel at Genentech since January 2022. Previous roles at Genentech include Director and Assistant General Counsel for Platforms and Discovery Technology IP and Senior Patent Counsel. Prior experience includes positions as an Associate and Patent Agent at Morrison & Foerster LLP, and a consultant at Warp Drive Bio, LLC, focusing on scientific intelligence in drug discovery. Academic experience encompasses positions as Assistant Professor in Biology at Amherst College and Department Fellow at Harvard University, alongside post-doctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital. Yan Qi holds a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law, a Ph.D. in Biophysics from Harvard University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from the California Institute of Technology.
