Robert Waarts

Robert Waarts has extensive experience in the field of optical engineering and product development. Robert started their career at SDL Inc as a Research Scientist and Research Manager, working on high-power semiconductor lasers. Robert later held various managerial positions in advanced R&D and product development. Waarts then worked at JDSU as a Chief Technologist and Senior Engineer before joining Coherent as a Principal Development Engineer. At Raydiance, Inc., they served as the Chief Technology Officer and VP R&D, focusing on ultra-fast laser development. Most recently, Waarts was the Managing Director of Optical Engineering at Gener8, where they oversaw the optical design, testing, and development of instruments for various applications. In addition, they have a consulting business where they provide services related to optical product development, technology troubleshooting, and patent writing.

Robert Waarts holds a Master's degree in Applied Physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science. Robert also obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Physics from the same institute. Previously, they graduated with an Ir degree in Applied Physics from Delft University of Technology.
