Matt Brems

Matt Brems is an accomplished data scientist and educator with extensive experience in various leadership roles across several organizations. Currently serving as Chair of the Executive Board for Statistics Without Borders, Matt leads a volunteer organization of over 2,500 individuals. As a Senior Manager of Instruction for the AI Program at Break Through Tech, Matt focuses on enhancing educational opportunities for underrepresented groups in technology. Other notable positions include Distinguished Faculty and Lead Data Science Instructor at General Assembly, and Co-Founder and Principal Data Scientist at BetaVector, a consultancy assisting diverse industries. Matt has held senior technical roles at DataRobot and has contributed to research on bias and fairness in machine learning at FINRA. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Statistics from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in multiple quantitative fields from Franklin College.
