Prasanth Thangavel

Prasanth Thangavel is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in machine learning and data analytics. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Grab since November 2021, Prasanth has developed large-scale ML/DL systems to improve user engagement across Southeast Asia and led data analysis for the GrabShare service. Concurrently, Prasanth has been the Lead Instructor for Data Analytics and Data Science at General Assembly, educating participants on data-driven decision-making and effective communication of analysis results. As a freelancer, Prasanth conducts workshops and corporate training in data science and analytics globally. Previous roles include a Doctoral Researcher at Nanyang Technological University, where Prasanth focused on using AI and machine learning to analyze EEG data for epilepsy diagnosis, and Chief Technology Officer at JobShine.sg, where data-driven strategies were employed to enhance user acquisition. Prasanth holds a PhD in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies and degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Mechatronics.
