Avery Priest

Avery Priest currently serves as an Analyst and Recruiting Coordinator at General Atlantic since September 2023. Prior to this role, Avery worked as a Second Grade Teacher at Martin Luther King, Jr. Charter School of Excellence, where responsibilities included developing culturally relevant and standard-aligned ELA curriculum and analyzing student data. As a Corps Member with Teach For America, selected from a competitive pool, Avery engaged in professional development focused on anti-racist and culturally relevant pedagogy and taught 5th grade ELA during summer programs. Previous experiences include positions as an Assistant Teacher at Apple Blossom School and Family Center, a Traveling Sales Associate at glassybaby, and a Head Coach Intern for The Tenacity Project. Avery earned a Master of Education in Teaching and Curriculum Planning from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Dickinson College.
