Frederick Smith

Frederick Smith is a seasoned manufacturing engineer with extensive experience in mechanical design and engineering across multiple industries. Currently at General Atomics as a Manufacturing Engineer since December 2025, Frederick previously excelled as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Cohu, Inc., where contributions included developing next-generation device testing handlers, providing customer support on mechanical alignment, and leading automation-driven testing for emerging technologies. Prior roles include a significant tenure at Nordson MARCH as a Member of Technical Staff, where project leadership and part management were key, alongside earlier positions as an Associate Mechanical Engineer and intern at Parker Meggitt, contributing to process improvements and innovative tooling solutions. Frederick holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from San Diego State University.
