Rick Eis is a highly experienced firmware and software engineer with a career spanning several decades in various high-tech companies. Currently serving as a Major Retired and firmware engineer at General Atomics since 2011, Rick has developed firmware for diverse projects involving advanced microprocessor technology, including camera, laser, and radar systems. Previously, Rick held the position of Principal Software Engineer at NuVasive Inc, focusing on VxWorks kernel management and C-based GUI implementations, and served as Senior Software Engineer at Cymer Inc, contributing to the Taurus control system for deep UV lasers. Earlier roles included software consulting for multiple firms, where Rick designed microprocessor firmware, and a position at Xscribe Corporation, where a virtual heap manager was developed for litigation software. Rick holds an M.S. in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
