Ken Caird is the Chief Engineer and Managing Director of Energy Strategy and Solutions at Actionable Strategies, providing extensive expertise in utility Smart Grid automation across various fields. With over 40 years of experience in the electric utility sector, Ken began their career as a Protection & Control engineer at a major Canadian utility, later advancing to roles such as Director of R&D at a substation automation startup that became a leading supplier in North America. Following its acquisition by General Electric, Ken took on the role of Chief Engineer for the Substation Automation division, where they focused on Smart Grid integration and system engineering. Currently, Ken is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
