Eric D. Sprunk

Eric D. Sprunk is the current Director at General Mills. Prior to this, they were the Chief Operating Officer at Nike from March 1993 to August 2020. In this role, they led a globally-distributed team of 25,000+ Nike employees and an additional 1,200,000 contract employees responsible for manufacturing, sourcing, procurement and IT/technology for the $37B global enterprise. Eric also drove the digital transformation of the company to be consumer direct and oversaw all efforts to maintain its robust and innovative supply chain. Other responsibilities included global real estate and workplace environments.

Under Eric's leadership, Nike achieved many successes including creating a multi-year strategy and framework for the digital transformation of the company, consolidating several disparate technology organizations to form new faster, more agile and more efficient Nike Tech organization, amplifying and accelerating Nike’s voice in corporate responsibility and sustainability, opening >50 new inventory nodes in global supply chain to better serve consumers directly, consolidating the source base by 20% increasing the units manufactured by 40% with double digit productivity through lean principles, automation and digitization of manufacturing, leading innovation hubs around the world to create best-in-class supply chain capabilities, creating a pre-competitive coalition of industry peers to self-regulate and consolidate different audit standards and remediation efforts in factories to increase the health and well-being of the factory worker, and opening >30 new world-class leading-edge work environments in global key cities and WHQ investing in the culture putting employees first and enabling flexible and remote working around the world.

Prior to Nike, Sprunk was with Flying Fish Partners, FUSE, Olvin, BOMBARDIER, and Seattle Seawolves Rugby. Eric has a long history with General Mills dating back to when they first joined the company in 1993. Eric left General Mills in 2001 to join Nike but returned in 2009 as Chief Operating Officer. In this role, they were responsible for leading the company's day-to-day operations as well as driving growth initiatives. Eric was appointed to their current role of Director in 2020.
