Group Chief Security Officer at Generali

Remo Marini has been Group Head of IT & Operations Risk & Security at Assicurazioni Generali since 2016.

Remo is responsible for IT & Cyber Security, Corporate and Physical (C&P) risk management, execution of the Group's security programmes and coordination of the response to major security incidents, including crisis management.

In addition, he is the CEO of Generali CyberSecurTech, the startup created in 2018 to provide innovative solutions for customer risk assessment and to support the Cyber insurance business.

Prior to Generali, Remo was Head of Security Service Line at UniCredit Group responsible for cyber security, physical security, access management, anti-fraud and corporate security.

Previously, he gained relevant experience (15 years) within the Polizia di Stato as a cyber security and cybercrime expert.

He graduated in Physics at the University of Parma with a specialization in Cybernetics and subsequently completed international postgraduate courses in IT and cyber security.

During his career, he has developed and promoted various research activities. He is currently president of the F3RM1 Foundation which focuses on advanced research in the field of computer security.

His main areas of interest are Quantum Computing and vulnerability discovery, botnet monitoring and malware analysis. Author of various scientific publications on the topic of security and information technology.
