Tracy Zimmermann

Before joining Generation Bio, Tracy served as senior director, research, at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals. Over her 15-year tenure at Alnylam, she led cross-functional teams from research, early development, clinical and commercial in support of early stage pipeline growth. In her role, she oversaw the integration of multiple facets of target and indication evaluation—including technical feasibility, target validation, unmet need, competitive landscape and market analysis—into recommendations for advancement of novel development candidates. Tracy began her career at Variagenics developing novel genotyping and DNA methylation assays for evaluation of tumor-associated marker, after completing a National Institutes of Health (NIH) postdoctoral fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Lehigh University and her doctorate in chemistry from University of Colorado Boulder.
