Yolanda Carrion brings 42 years of experience as an educator. Started as an ESL teacher and Supervisor of English in Puerto Rico. Upon returning to the Bronx, taught grades K-6. Founded and directed the first free-standing ESL school in the Bronx. This K-8 experience led to promotion as principal of elementary and middle schools in the Bronx. After 10 years as principal, became Community Superintendent for District 7 in the Bronx.
She has also been named Executive Superintendent of the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE), under the leadership of Chancellor Carmen Farina.
