Ryan Libel

Ryan Libel is the current Director of Chicago at Genesys Works. Prior to this, they spent 9 years at CME Group, where they were the Executive Director and Head of Office of the CIO. In this role, they were responsible for a team of 30 and a budget of $18 million.

Under their leadership, the company’s Office of the CIO and in-scope functions grew and matured. Ryan also oversaw the acquisition of seven companies and the launch of a $400 million joint venture. In addition, they led the IT and information security strategy and delivery for a $1 billion partnership with Google and the planned migration to Google Cloud Platform.

During their time at CME Group, Libel drove cross-organizational optimization and achieved a $600 million annual IT and information security budget. Ryan also increased employee engagement and retention, leading to recognition as one of Computer World’s “Top 100 Best Places to Work in IT” four years in a row.

Libel is also a founding member of the company’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and champion of related mentoring programs. Ryan has built partnerships with non-profit programs to provide professional training and paid internships to Chicago Public Schools students. Ryan is currently the executive sponsor of the women technologist employee resource group.

Ryan Libel graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelors of Science in Accountancy.
