Will Kelland

Program Manager at Genesys Works

Will Kelland has worked in the field of international development for over six years. Will began their career as an intern with the International Rescue Committee, where they provided support to the education team. Will then spent a year teaching at the Red Cloud Indian School, before returning to the field of international development as an intern with the Scholars Latino Initiative.

In April 2019, Will began working as a Program Intern with Pact, an international development organization that works to empower communities and create lasting change. Will provided programmatic and administrative support to the team, helping to design and implement capacity building and technical assistance programs in six countries across the Balkans and Eastern Europe.

In November 2019, Will joined the National Democratic Institute (NDI) as a Senior Program Assistant. In this role, they were responsible for developing and monitoring budgets exceeding $5,000,000 for USG and European donors, drafting program reports and proposals, and recruiting, training, and supervising Project Assistants on the team.

Will is currently working as the Program Coordinator for the National Capital Region at Genesys Works, an organization that provides pathways to career success for young adults from underserved communities through skills training, meaningful work experiences, and ongoing support.

Will Kelland has a M.A. in International Development from American University with a Concentration in gender and youth empowerment. They also have a degree in Leadership Studies from the University of Richmond. Furthermore, they are certified in Motivational Interviewing from Psychwire and in Systems Mapping from Acumen Academy.

Will Kelland works with Krystal Stackhouse - Director of Programs, National Capital Region, Abby McKenna - Program Coordinator, National Capital Region, and Vinette Brown - Development Director, National Capital Region. Their manager is Selvon Waldron, Executive Director, National Capital Region.
