Susanne Cappendijk

Susanne Cappendijk is a highly experienced professional with a diverse work history. Susanne has held various roles in the fields of STEAM, laboratory animal science, consulting, software productivity tools, fundraising and academic enrichment.

In 2017, they founded EDsnaps, a NYC based non-profit organization, where they served as the Founder and President. Her vision was to increase diversity in the STEAM workforce and their mission was to inspire global STEAM-learners to become global STEAM-leaders.

In 2020, they took on the role of Foreign Correspondent at Biotechniek - DALAS Dutch Association for Laboratory Animal Science.

From 2014 to present, they have been the Founder and President of Semper Clarus Consulting, LLC, where they consult for a variety of clients including for-profit and non-profit entities.

From 2003 to 2013, they were the Co-Founder and CFO of Genivia Inc. Susanne also served as the Fundraiser and Co-Sponsor of the Genivia Fund for Entrepreneurship, which provides funding for individual gifts and grants awarded to outstanding Florida State University undergraduate and graduate student businesses.

From 2011 to 2013, they were the Director of the Student Research and Academic Enrichment Program at Florida State University. During their tenure, they designed 7 workshops and over 210 students were involved in the program.

Finally, from 2013 to 2014, they were a Senior Scientist (Pharmacology) at Medical Device Development Group (Md2G). In this role, they provided primary and secondary analyses to support development and commercialization of client-driven projects.

Susanne Cappendijk has an extensive educational background. Susanne began their studies in 1987, earning an MS in Biology from Utrecht University in 1990. From 1995 to 1997, they were a Post-doctoral Fellow at Karolinska Institutet in Clinical Neuroscience and Pharmacology. Susanne then returned to Erasmus University Rotterdam, where they were a Research Associate in Pharmacology from 1998 to 2002 and earned their PhD in Pharmacology in 1995. In 2004, they moved to Florida State University where they were an Assistant in Medicine in the College of Medicine, Dept. of Biomedical Sciences until 2008. Susanne then served as an Assistant Professor in the same department until 2013. Finally, they earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Florida State University in 2014.
