Joost Melis

Joost Melis is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in communications and scientific research. Since June 2014, Joost has held several positions at Genmab, currently serving as Associate Director, Communications Business Partner for Global R&D and Head of Communications in the Netherlands, with a focus on scientific communications and investor relations. Previous roles include Chief Editor at The Antibody Society and Editor-in-Chief for FOK!, where Joost coordinated a large team of music reviewers. Prior to these communications roles, Joost served as a postdoctoral researcher at Leiden University Medical Center and a PhD student at RIVM, specializing in cancer-related research. Additionally, Joost has worked as a freelance photographer since 2007, capturing diverse subjects including concerts and nature. Joost holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from Leiden University and degrees in Biotechnology and Molecular Biology from Wageningen University and the University of New England respectively.
