Gregory Nowling has diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Gregory began their career as an intern engineer at Esscor in 1998, where they programmed logic models for a hydroelectric plant simulation program. Gregory then joined Spansion in 2004 as a rotational engineer, responsible for developing dry-etch and wet-clean processes in flash memory device manufacturing. Afterward, they became a senior manufacturing engineer, overseeing various processes, tool maintenance, and process transfer.

In 2009, Gregory worked as a sustaining engineer at Agilent (via Volt Technical Services), focusing on DNA microarray fabrication. Gregory later joined Agilent Technologies in 2010 as a manufacturing engineer, excelling in writer upkeep, troubleshooting printing and wafer processing issues, and ensuring ISO compliance.

Gregory's career then led him to Intermolecular in 2011, where they held several technical staff positions. As a principal member of the technical staff, they contributed their expertise until 2018. Gregory then joined GenMark Diagnostics in 2018 as a staff manufacturing process engineer for two years before advancing to a senior staff engineer. Currently, Gregory holds the role of principal engineer at GenMark Diagnostics, demonstrating their continued growth and technical prowess.

Gregory Nowling has a strong educational background in the field of Chemical Engineering. Gregory started their academic journey at UC San Diego, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from 1995 to 1999. Motivated to further expand their knowledge in the field, Gregory pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at UCLA from 1999 to 2004.

In addition to their formal education, Gregory also obtained a certification in New Manager Foundations from LinkedIn in October 2019. This certification highlights their dedication to enhancing their managerial skills and staying updated with the latest industry practices.
