David J. Robbins

Chief Scientific Officer at Genomind

Dr. David Robbins serves as Chief Scientific Officer and is responsible for all aspects of laboratory operations at Genomind. Dr. Robbins has extensive experience in clinical molecular diagnostic testing in the fields of genetics, oncology and infectious diseases. Prior to joining Genomind, he founded the nucleic acids testing division of UTC Labs in New Orleans, LA. He previously served as Vice President of R&D and of Product Development, and Laboratory Director at Trovagene (now Cardiff Oncology), where he developed and implemented a urine-based HPV DNA test for cervical cancer screening. He has also served at SmithKline Clinical Labs (now Quest Diagnostics) and Abbott Labs, where he developed assays for hepatitis, HIV-1, genetic disorders, prostate cancer, and hereditary colorectal cancer, among others. His patent filings include potential markers for cancers of the breast and prostate.

Dr. Robbins received his BA in Chemistry from the Johns Hopkins University, and his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a Diplomate from the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (DABCC) and an MT from the American Association of Bioanalysts.
