Dr. Roy Perlis’ clinical work and research is focused on difficult-to-treat or treatment resistant mood disorders, including major depressive disorder and bipolar disorder. He is the author of more than 100 peer-reviewed research publications as well as numerous book chapters and reviews. His current research efforts include identifying predictors of treatment response and identifying and studying novel treatments for mood disorders.
Dr. Perlis is the Director of the Center for Experimental Drugs and Diagnostics, Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry and a Professor at Harvard Medical School.
A graduate of Brown University and Harvard Medical School, Dr. Perlis completed his residency, chief residency and clinical/research fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital before joining the faculty.
