Shrey Amin

Senior Scientist - Upstream Process Development at GenScript ProBio

Shrey Amin has a diverse work experience ranging from pharmaceutical research to software development. Shrey started their career as a Primary Pharmacy Tech Assistant at Raritan Bay Medical Center in 2012, where they were responsible for medicine labeling, stock organization, inventory, and transporting medication within the hospital. In 2015, they worked as a Clinical Research Intern at Eurofins | CRL, Inc., conducting experiments and performing allergic reaction testing on cosmetic and hygienic products.

In 2016, Shrey joined Carepoint Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Associate, providing patient-oriented clinical pharmacy services and advising patients on medications and self-care products. Shrey then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2019, where they developed an application for cognitive speech therapy using signal processing and machine learning techniques.

Shrey's career then shifted to the field of biotechnology. Shrey joined Merck in 2019 as an Upstream Scientist, leading a cross-functional team for upstream process development using CHO cells. Shrey optimized process parameters to maximize product yield and ensure consistent quality.

In 2022, Shrey joined NOVAVAX INC as a Scientist - Upstream Process Development, primarily focused on COVID-19 process development. Shrey conducted design of experiments studies, developed new technologies, and resolved manufacturing deviations. Shrey also worked extensively with insect cell-lines for cell expansion, virus generation, and protein production.

In 2023, Shrey will join GenScript ProBio as a Senior Process Development Scientist, where they will continue their work in process development.

Shrey Amin completed their education in a chronological order. They attended Sayreville War Memorial High School from 2010 to 2014 and obtained a High School Diploma. Later, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Rutgers University–New Brunswick from 2014 to 2018. Finally, they attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 2018 to 2019 and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering.
