Kangming Chen is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in molecular microbiology and genome editing. Since November 2016, Kangming has held various leadership roles at GenScript, including Director and Head of Project Management, focusing on high fidelity CRISPR-Cas9 applications, large genome sequence assembly, and combinatorial DNA library development. Previously, from December 2014 to October 2016, Kangming served as a Postdoc at Kansas State University, engaging in technical lab work related to bacterial virulence factors, grant writing, and mentoring. Earlier experience includes a teaching assistantship and research work at South Dakota State University between September 2009 and May 2014, where Kangming studied regulated intramembrane proteolysis in cyanobacteria. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biology and Microbiology from South Dakota State University and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Lanzhou University in Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, and Population Biology, and Biology, respectively.
