Leyla Tavarez

Leyla Tavarez is the Education Manager at Genspace NYC, where they focus on promoting educational initiatives in science. Previously, Leyla served as a Lab Manager and Adjunct Lecturer at The City College of New York, overseeing lab operations and teaching biology courses. They also coordinated the CUNY/ConEd Gas Safety Program and assisted with the STEM Research Academy, guiding high school students in their academic pursuits. Leyla holds a Master’s Degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from The City University of New York City College, where they also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology.
