John Y. has a diverse work experience in mechanical engineering spanning over two decades. John started their career as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at ECRM in 1996 and worked there until 2000. From 2001 to 2003, they served as a Senior Opto-Mechanical / Systems Integration Engineer at OSC. John then joined Nova Biomedical as a Senior Opto-Mechanical R&D Engineer from 2004 to 2007. In 2008, they worked at Philips Solid State Lighting as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. From 2009 to 2013, they were a Senior R&D Engineer at Volcano Corporation, specifically in the OCT Imaging device group. Following that, they worked as a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Bruker Biospin, Molecular Imaging Group from 2014 to 2015. John then joined BionX Medical Technologies (formerly iWalk Inc.) as a Principal Mechanical Engineer from 2015 to 2016 before transitioning to their most recent role as a Principal Mechanical Engineer at Gentuity, LLC starting from 2016.
John Y. earned a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University, where they studied from 1993 to 1995. In 1996 and 1997, they attended the SPIE Professional Short Course, focusing on Optics and Opto-mechanical studies. In 2002 and 2003, they pursued further graduate studies in Electro Optical Engineering through the EOTC Graduate Study Program at Tufts University.
