Michael Ruff has worked in the engineering and medical fields since 1992. Michael began their career as a Biomedical Technician at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where they performed preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment. Michael was also on-call 24-7 with troubleshooting and repair often during patient medical procedures. From 1996 to 2001, they worked as a Project Engineer at JcAIR BFGoodrich Test Systems, where they developed acceptance test programs for commercial avionics and designed hardware interfaces from test equipment to avionics. Since 2001, they have been a Sr. Staff Engineer at CertTech, LLC, where they develop automated test systems including hardware, software, and requirement based tests. Michael has experience with safety-critical regulated projects such as DO-178B for avionics.

Michael Ruff obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering (with a Biomedical Engineering emphasis) from Southern Methodist University between 1988 and 1992. In 2015, they achieved a Certified TestStand Architect certification from National Instruments. In 2019, they achieved a Certified LabVIEW Developer certification from National Instruments.
