Daniela Schmitt

Daniela Schmitt is currently the Head of Export Control & Customs at GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, where they are responsible for compliance with export controls and customs regulations. Daniela has previously held positions in several companies, including as Senior Professional Export Control at Bayer Business Services and as Head of Export Control and Customs at JENOPTIK Robot GmbH. Their career began in the sales support and logistics sectors, having worked at Winzerkeller Sommerach EG and Ruhl Stahlhandel GmbH & Co. KG. Daniela completed their apprenticeship as a Wholesale and Foreign Trade Merchant and later earned a Master Professional Diploma in Business Management.
