Nils Hutter is a seasoned scientist with a diverse background in environmental physics, geophysics, and engineering. Nils began a career as a freelance field surveyor in the offshore sector with BioConsult SH from January 2010 to September 2015. Nils then pursued advanced studies, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Technische Universität Hamburg, a Master of Science in Environmental Physics from Universität Bremen, and additional training in Physical Engineering Science at Technische Universität Berlin. From October 2019 to August 2021, Nils held roles as a Postdoctoral Scientist, Scientist, and Researcher at the Alfred-Wegener-Institut, Helmholtz-Zentrum für Polar- und Meeresforschung. This was followed by a position as a CICOES Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Washington from September 2021 to February 2023. Currently, Nils serves as a Senior Scientist at GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel, starting in June 2024.
