Sylvia Sander is currently serving as the Helmholtz Distinguished Professor of Marine Mineral Resources at GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel since September 2021. Prior to this role, Sylvia Sander held the position of Section Head at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from July 2017 to September 2021 and was an Associate Professor at the University of Otago from 2001 to 2017. Sylvia Sander earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau between 1987 and 1995.
