Senior Data Engineer

Sawyer Stippa has held a variety of roles in the GIS industry since 2010. From 2010-2011, they worked as a Digital Geography Lab Technician at Salem State College, where they aided students with GIS software and digital mapping inquires. Sawyer then worked as a Specialist at Apple Retail from 2011-2012. In 2012, they were an Intern at hakia, where they researched and designed user applications for hakia.com, a semantic search engine. From 2013-2015, they worked as a GIS Technician IV at the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), where they assisted with GIS and Remote Sensing data processing for research studies. From 2015-2018, they worked as a GIS Programmer Analyst at Dutchess County Government, where they developed GIS web applications using web standard languages and RDBMS. Sawyer is currently working as a Data Engineer (GIS) at GeoPhy.

Sawyer Stippa obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Remote Sensing and GIS from Aberystwyth University between 2011 and 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in GIS and Cartography from Salem State University between 2009 and 2010. Sawyer also obtained a Minor in Political Science and Government from Gordon College between 2007 and 2009.
