Michael Biesecker

Michael Biesecker is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in investigative reporting and academia. Since July 2011, Michael has been a Global Investigative Reporter for The Associated Press, contributing to the award-winning Global Investigative Team with a focus on human conflict, war crimes, and the effects of climate change. In addition to journalism, Michael serves as an Adjunct Professor of Journalism at Georgetown University, teaching courses on investigative and environmental reporting since August 2020. Prior roles include State Capitol Reporter for The Charlotte Observer and The News & Observer, as well as a Visiting Lecturer at N.C. State University. Michael's early career includes work as a columnist and reporter at the Winston-Salem Journal. Educational qualifications include a BA in English from North Carolina State University and an MA in Liberal Studies from Wake Forest University.
