Ian Roach

Ian Roach is a seasoned geoscientist with extensive experience in stratigraphic drilling, mineral exploration, and educational roles. Since 2008, Ian has led teams at Geoscience Australia, focusing on projects such as the deep stratigraphic borehole in the Adavale Basin and the Darling-Curnamona-Delamerian Project, which involved detailed geological data collection and analysis. Prior consultancy roles include work with Schmidt Quarries and Rimfire Pacific Mining NL. Ian has also contributed to higher education as a lecturer at both the Australian National University and the University of Canberra, specializing in mineral exploration and geology. Ian's career began with a foundation in geoscience as a technician with the Bureau of Mineral Resources, followed by key roles in gold mining, showcasing a strong background in both practical and research aspects of geology. Ian holds a PhD in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Canberra.
